NASCAR And The Movies

If everyone remembers the movie “Days of Thunder” starring Tom Cruise, it was all about car racing. In one scene during a race in Phoenix Arizona, “Rowdy Rody Piper” hits Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise) from behind on spite. Cole’s crew chief tells him to stay focused; you’re wondering all over the track. Cole says; that’s because the SOB just slammed into me. Crew chief says; he didn’t slam you, he didn’t nudge you, he didn’t bump you, he “rubbed you” and rubbing son is racing! Watch the trailer here…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEPwDIGWYug Looking at the recent NASCAR incident from October 11th, 2014 where Brad Kieslowski got into “fisticuffs” with a few other racers saying; they can dish it out, but can’t take it when I gave it back. This has brought lots of attention to NASCAR for all the wrong reasons. I’m not a fan of Brad’s at all, but if other drivers are “rubbin” him, as “Rowdy Rody Piper” did in the movie, then I think he has every right to be mad and give it back. Knowing the other most recent event, where a driver was killed by getting out of his race car to confront another driver, Tony Stewart, for what he thought Tony did wrong to him. We can’t allow this to get out of hand, but we can’t make them sissy babies either. These drivers are going 200 MPH and anything can happen. Just remember “rubbin is racin”
