Moving Out Of New Jersey
I read a recent article that said New Jersey had the highest move-out rate. United Van Lines reports out on their 36th annual "migration study" that we had the highest number of people moving out of the State...WHY?
We all know our taxes are high no matter what part of the State we live in, but is that it? I thought the Jersey Shore was where everyone wanted to live? Who doesnt like the ocean?
One economist blamed some of it on Sandy...come on what are you kidding me? Sandy just happened, most people haven't even settled their claims, how could they have packed up and moved? I'm sure we have many that called it quits, but what they don't tell you is how many moved back since 1/1/2012.
I know I have helped many people find a home who once moved away and can't live elsewhere (you know the green grass syndrome..it's better somewhere else). Every State has their set of issue's, even Florida, the place many go to from Jersey.
Florida isn't flawless and here are some statisitics;
2011 there were 985 murders, 9,880 sex offenses, 25,617 robberies and 61,701 aggravated assulats. WOW!
Now granted Florida is larger but lets make a comparision;
2010 ( it's all i could find) there were 372 murders, 985 rape cases (attemped rape & rape), 11,859 robberies and 13,859 aggravated assaults.
In my eyes the people of New Jersey are safer here than Florida, but they do have one thing everyone likes; WARM WEATHER most of the year.
Stay and enjoy the Jersey Shore!
I grew up in Broward County, Florida close to Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Toward the end of my senior year of High School my family moved to Barnegat, New Jersey where I met my wife Maryellen. We have 5 kid....
