No, I’m not talking about the state of affairs in Washington, DC, although I could be. Of course I’m talking college basketball. Now that your bracket is busted, hopefully you can watch the games without bias and enjoy them for what they are. So far, most have been exciting with some twists & turns and of course heartbreak. We have come to expect nothing less. We hope that midnight doesn’t come for our Cinderella team. Well for a couple the clock is still ticking. We have made it to the Elite Eight. The match- ups are:

In the East region, Florida (4) vs S Carolina (7)

In the West region, Gonzaga (1) vs Xavier (11)

In the MidWest region, Kansas (1) vs Oregon (3)

In the South region, N Carolina (1) vs Kentucky (2)

Even if we start a new bracket now, I think we would have a tough time making the 7 right picks to get a perfect bracket. Of course for fun, I’ll try my best and we’ll have to see how well I do in a little over a week’s time. Before I go out on a limb, I thought I’d better share some of my thoughts, which will lead me to my choices. First, how can you not root for both Gonzaga and Xavier, unfortunately, they play each other. Three number ones left, touch to vote against them.  Heart versus head, enough stalling, here they are:

S Carolina over Florida, a Cinderella moves on

Gonzaga over Xavier, sorry Cinderella

Kansas over Oregon, need a couple number one seeds

Kentucky over N Carolina, coin flip

Final Four

Gonzaga over S Carolina

Kentucky over N Carolina

Crown goes to Kentucky, sorry Gonzaga
