Fort Lauderdale Florida

A place I grew up at in the late 1970's. Plantation Fla, just west of Ft. Lauderdale off Sunrise blvd, directly accross from Plantation High School (Apple Creek Town homes). As a high school student I walked 2 minutes to school, and two minutes to lunch ( kids aren't allowed to leave anymore).

We smoked cigarettes, cut class and did many things wrong, but we made it. I went on to college, got married, had kids and my kids are in or graduated college today.

Cell phones were not even thought of, only hot rods and girl friends. I went to automechanics and lunch. Times were different and no way would I accept the same from my kids today.

Ft. Lauderdale is the "spring break capital" daughter is NOT going! Although I attended many spring breaks as a high school student, I know that not acceptable anymore. I have many friends there still, all of which I talk to regular on facebook. They too have kids and say the same.

Times have changed, but the memories will never fade away. I live for the memories and I hope my friends do too!

Rock on Floridian Friends!
