The bright orange arms extending farther over Long Beach Boulevard in North Beach are Atlantic City Electric’s answer to the need for more power.

“Atlantic City Electric is continually upgrading its electric system through reliability improvement projects throughout its service territory to further improve service reliability for customers,” said spokesman Frank Tedesco when asked about the project. “The work being done in North Beach consists of crews installing equipment to the existing cross arms on the utility poles.”

The new pieces will accommodate larger wire that is “designed to handle increased load capacity for area residents as well as for the increased load expected this summer season,” Tedesco said.
