Preparing Your Home for Sale

When getting ready to sell your home, there are so many things to think about.  Here is a checklist of items to help you prepare your home for buyers to see.

  • Walk through your house as though you are a buyer.

  • Clean out and have a yard sale to get rid of anything you don’t need.

  • Use Facebook Yard Sale sites to help clear out anything you don’t need.

Cleaning (You want your home to look spotless for your potential buyers)

  • Do a thorough cleaning of your home. 

  • Repair cracks or holes in wall.

  • Remove any excess furniture.

  • Steam clean carpets

  • Scrub tile

  • Clean appliances

Curb Appeal (Your curb appeal is a potential buyers first impression of your home)

  • Power wash siding

  • Sweep porch and walkway

  • Mow lawn

  • Trim bushes and shrubs

  • Clean gutters

  • Plant flowers in garden

For Showings

  • Turn on lights

  • Open blinds to let in natural light

And most simple tip:

Purchase a new welcome mat.

Makes home look very welcoming to potential buyers.
