  • Fine Silver & Natural Stone Pendant Workshop:  10am-2pm at the LBI Foundation of the Arts & Sciences main building, 120 Long Beach Blvd., Loveladies.  Using fine silver Precious Metal Clay and a natural stone of your choice, participants make a beautiful and unique pendant. Skills learned include rolling and texturing the clay, making an investment mold from the stone, designing and forming a setting, and setting the stone.   • Science Saturday Lecture Series:   11:00am at the LBI Foundation of the Arts & Sciences main building, 120 Long Beach Blvd., Loveladies.  Ben Wurst of the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ presents a program on ospreys.  Learn about the historical and current issues that the ospreys face as well as what¹s being done to assist these sea hawks. Ben will discuss how major policy changes and nesting assistance have helped the NJ osprey population to increase exponentially and where the most help is needed to continue the increase for these important shore residents.   • Getting Glazes Class:  9:00am?1:00pm at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences, 120 Long Beach Boulevard, Loveladies, NJ.   Instructor: Kerith Creo will introduce and offer helpful tips for approaching the vast world of glazing. Discussion of underglazes, mixing glazes, and Cone 6 & 10 glazes will be covered.  Demonstrations on when and how to dip, spray, and brush paint your pots will be shown. The class will also cover how to use tape and wax resist to create specific glaze designs on the surface. Bring 3 ? 6 pieces of bisque ware to glaze.
