Well this weekend we went to another great place for dinner. This was quite different and a bit out of the area. It’s was our time of the year to enjoy some time with our close friends. We decided to go to a special place. It’s called Chef Vola, in Atlantic City. But you’ll probably never find it in any ads. As a mater of fact there isn’t even a sign on the place and I’m told you have to know someone to even get in. Luckily, one of our friends grew-up in that area and suggested we go there and set up the reservations. Once we got there you have to walk down an alley on the side of this house and go in a little basement door. Inside there’s low ceilings and very small quarters. Maybe enough room for 35 or 40 seats. It was crazy! It was also interesting when I asked for the men’s room and had to walk through the kitchen to get to it. I guess that’s all part of the ambiance. The best part came when the owner came out to explain all the specials for the night. I was just amazed at how he could remember so many different entrees along with appetizers and soups. Everyone ordered something different from fish to beef, chicken, pork and pasta to salads and soups. Each item was amazing! The portions were huge and of course, none of us could finish. The restaurant is BYOB but if you forget, there’s a store around the corner and they’ll even send someone to get it for you. This was a great experience for a special occasion but probably not experience very often since it’s a bit pricey. If you love “real” Italian food and like a little atmosphere, you’ll probably love this place, you just have to figure out how to get in! “Bon Appetite”
