Operation Halloween Scheduled For October 11th And 12th
Pumpkin Street is free to all comers. The kids can trick-or-treat at the various stops along the way. Stage presentations for younger children will begin at 4. there will be pumpkin painting, face painting, spin art, a hay bale maze, and lots more. With the purchase of a $10.00 wrist band, kids can enjoy the Munchkin hayride from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The wrist and is good for unlimited hayrides for the wearer for the entire day. the same wrist band is good for unlimited rides on the Jersey Devil Hayride and the Zombie Outbreak walk through the woods. Both of these scary attractions begin at 7:00 pm and the lines will close at 11:00 pm.
As the sun goes down, the entertainment on Pumpkin street will become more contemporary. there are several bands scheduled to play. Bill Clanton from WBNJ will be emceeing the festivities.
Food and drink can be purchased, so don't bother packing a dinner.
The entire affair is staffed by volunteers from non-profit groups throughout southern Ocean County. Local for-profit businesses have teamed up with these non-profit groups and are donating any of their proceeds to their designated charity.
Last year the event raised $28,000. This year the organizers hope to raise even more. Four additional tractors have been added to the hay ride. Extra portable johns will be available and the food menu has been expanded.
