OPERATION HALLOWEEN THIS WEEKEND
The fifth annual Operation Halloween event will once again be held at the Citta Scout Reservation on Brookville Road in Waretown on October 28th and 29th. The gates open at 4 pm and stay open until 10:00 pm. The event is co-sponsored by the Jersey Shore Council of the Boys Scouts of America and the Rotary clubs of Southern Ocean County. There’s fun to be had by the whole family.
Pumpkin Street features music, games, a hay maze, pumpkin painting, bounce house attractions and all sorts of food. It’s safe and fun for the entire family. The Munchkin Hayride leaves Pumpkin Street from 4 pm until the evening hours.
The Jersey Devil Hayride makes regular trips from Pumpkin Street once darkness descends. This ride is much scarier than the Munchkin Hayride. The Jersey Devil Hayride drops off the riders at the Zombie Outbreak where folks have to weave their way through a maze of scares on their way back to Pumpkin Street. And just when one thinks they’re out of harm’s way, they find themselves in the middle of the One Step Beyond attractions. One Step Beyond offers more scares before a safe return to Pumpkin Street.
Operation Halloween is offers everyone a safe and fun-filled Halloween experience. Since all of the vendors are local non-profit groups the public has an opportunity to learn about the services they provide to the community as well as support those efforts. Tickets are reasonably priced at $5.00 for the early admittance and $10.00 after dark. Children under 3 are free. For 20% discount coupons contact any participating nonprofit organization or email anyone at the Van Dyk Group.
