Two walls in the “Morro Castle Room” at the Museum of New Jersey Maritime History are devoted to photos of the tragedy. Almost weekly, somebody brings in memorabilia, documents or photographs of the ill-fated ship that sailed regularly between New York and Havana, Cuba from 1930-1934. Dozens of notebooks are in the “Morro Castle Room,” where visitors can spend hours reading of personal experiences and newspaper clippings. Also available are recently declassified FBI files, some of which still have lines blacked out.
