For you nature lovers there is a new Ocean County Park in Barnegat. Lochiel Creek located on Barnegat Blvd, just west of Route 9. This site is 177 acres of forest and wetlands. There are restrooms, ample parking and a 1.75 marked nature trail. One of the most convenient features is its accessibility to the Barnegat Branch Trail. This trail also crosses Lochiel Creek, the parks namesake, which is home to threatened wildflower species and strange Pinelands plants. Happy trails!
