Hello Spring Time To Think Green On LBI
Goodbye winter. Hello Spring and soon to be summer here at Long Beach Island. As everything begins to bloom it struck me that it might be a fitting time to talk about Green buildings and properties. More and more builders, buyers, and sellers today are becoming more green savvy. More of them are looking to either build green or update their home to be leave less of a carbon and ecological footprint.
The U.S. Green Building Council developed the LEED rating system which provides a measure to evaluate the design and construction of homes. A home does not need to be 100% green to become a LEED certified green home. For more information on the rating system please refer to the following links:

There are numerous areas and ways to help your home become greener. Everything from flooring and toilets to windows and water tanks, outside watering systems, and even alternative energy sources to heat your home such as solar or wind power.
There are many ways big and small to help your home leave less of a ecological footprint and contribute to a greener planet. Something to consider as we enter into springtime this year.
