Bike Weekend and BBQ Fest

Two ofSeasideHeightsmost popular events kick off the official start of the fall season this weekend, Thursday, September 22 through Sunday, September 25, and help benefit Toys for Tots and the Food Bank of Monmouth andOceanCounties.

Starting the weekend is the Seaside Heights Bike Weekend and NJ State H.O.G Rally, held 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday & Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Also this weekend is SeasideHeights3rd Annual Que-by-the-Sea BBQ Festival and Competition, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). The event runs Friday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

BBQ lovers will converge onGrant Avenueto enjoy open flame-cooked favorites from BBQ vendors (beer and wine available with proper ID), retail vendors, and nonstop musical entertainment. (Full list of events below.)

On Sunday, competitors from all over the tri-state area will put their mastery of grilling techniques and methods to the test, vying for $13,000 in prizes and awards. BBQ aficionados will compete in four categories: chicken, pulled pork, brisket or ribs
