For those of us dreading the beach replenishment on LBI we won't have to worry about it affecting summer. The Army Corps of Engineers has stated that could be delayed to October of 2015 and then possible even later due to time over runs at other projects in New Jersey. For those of you just tuning in, this is the part of the Coastal Storm Damage Reduction Project for Long Beach Island that will build up the dunes. This project takes four blocks at a time and dredges in sand from the ocean twenty four hours a day for a week and then move on to the next four streets. It would be real inconvenience for summer visitors to have to vacation around this and so to many this delay is a relief.
